Responsibilities

  •  Research reviews and analyzes practice issues affecting APNs and makes recommendations to NAINA.
  •  Serves as a liaison to represent NAINA in clinical practice projects.
  •  Implements annual clinical excellence conferences.
  • Serves as a resource to APN committees of the local chapters.
  • Collaborates with NAINA Professional Development committee in continuously assessing, identifying, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs to meet NAINA’s APN members’ needs.
  • Keeps a separate database for all APRNs of NAINA.

Binu Shajimon

I am Binu Shajimon, an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with over 21 years in Advanced Practice Nursing, specializing in Interventional Cardiology. I began my nursing career in India in 1989 and earned my Master’s degree from Temple University, along with additional qualifications from the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University. I completed my doctorate at Drexel University while working full-time.

I hold national certifications from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and currently practice at Einstein Medical Center, where I am recognized for my compassionate care and expertise. I am honored to have been inducted as an associate of the American College of Cardiology (AACC), highlighting my commitment to advancing cardiovascular care.

My career highlights include serving as the Past Chair of the Pennsylvania APRN Organization (PIANO) and Past Co-Chair of NAINA's APRN group. I have also been actively engaged in community service, organizing health fairs to promote healthcare access and improve community health outcomes.

As the newly elected APRN Chair of NAINA for 2025, I am dedicated to serving the community and exemplifying a strong commitment to nursing excellence and community health improvement.
